Police and emergency services have rescued a man after he became stuck on rocks in San Remo this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to reports the 50-year-old man had fallen and become trapped down a rock crevice off George Bass Coastal Walk about 2.10pm.
General duties officers responded and were able to communicate with the man however were unable to gain access to him due to the difficult terrain and rising tide.
Officers from the Search and Rescue Squad winched down the approximate 30 metre crevice and assessed the man, who was reporting he had broken his leg.
The Rescue and Coordination Centre (RCC) coordinated the response which included Fire Rescue Victoria, Country Fire Authority, State Emergency Service (SES), Air Wing, Search and Rescue Squad, Ambulance Victoria (HEMS), Life Saving Victoria and Water Police personnel.
Following an extensive and technical rescue operation, the man was winched to safety by Ambulance Victoria (HEMS) around 5.30pm and airlifted to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
