Man robbed and assaulted at Prahran Railway Station

Transit Safety Division detectives are hoping to identify a man after a man was attacked at the Prahran Railway Station earlier this month, Victoria Police say.

Police have been told a man was carrying shopping bags and walked to the Prahran Railway Station via the Porter Street entrance about 3.45pm on Saturday 5 May.

He was approached by an unknown man at the entrance to platform two, when he was pushed around and demands were made for his shopping.

A scuffle ensued and the victim was punched to the face a number of times.

The offender then fled the scene with one of the shopping bags.

The victim, a 29-year-old man received minor injuries to his face.

The offender is perceived to be Southern European in appearance, aged in his late 30s to early 40s, 180cm tall with a thin build and short black hair.

He was wearing a black zip up jacket, black sweater with a white shirt underneath, blue jeans and white/grey Nike runners.

Detectives have released an image of a man that may be able to assist with their enquiries.
