Man shot in leg in Claymore

A man is being treated for a leg injury after he was shot at a home in Sydney’s south west this morning, NSW Police say.

Police from Macquarie Fields Local Area Command were called to Heyson Way at Claymore about 1.50am tomorrow, after calls to Triple Zero (000) reported shots fired.

They found a 42-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his left thigh.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital.

The injury is not believed to be life-threatening.

A crime scene has been established and a Police Dog team have been brought in to search the location.

A canvass of the neighbourhood is now underway.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact Macquarie Fields Police or Crime Stopers.
