Man stabbed at bus stop in Wynyard

Police are investigating after a man was stabbed at Wynyard this afternoon, NSW Police say.

About 2pm (Wednesday 6 June 2018), emergency services were called to a bus stop on Carrington Street, outside Wynyard Railway Station, after reports a man had been stabbed by another man while waiting in a bus queue.

The man suffered stab wounds to the back of his neck and was treated by paramedics at the scene, before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a stable condition.

The other men left the area and was last seen heading toward York Street.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 30s, and is said to have a noticeable boil on his face.

He was wearing a light blue jumper, black hat and jeans.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police immediately.
