About 11.30am, today, emergency services were called to Leeside Road, North Avoca, following reports a man had been stabbed, NSW Police say.
NSW Ambulance Paramedics treated a 46-year-old man at the scene for a stab wound before being airlifted to hospital.
Officers attached to Brisbane Water Local Area Command have established a crime scene and are currently investigating circumstances surrounding the incident.
A man is currently assisting police with their inquiries.
Investigations into the incident are continuing and police to urging anyone with information to contact police via Crime Stoppers.
