Man stabbed, teen in custody at Randwick

A teen is assisting with inquiries after a stabbing at Randwick.

About 9.50pm (Thursday 18 April 2019), two males, aged 21 and 17, who are known to each other, became involved in an altercation at a home on Meymott Street.

After the altercation, the older man left the home but was followed by the younger man.

A further altercation took place outside a home on Howard Street, during which the older man received several stab wounds.

Emergency services attended and the victim was taken to St Vincent's Hospital where he is understood to be in a stable condition.

A short time later the 17-year-old was arrested at the home on Meymott Street. He was taken to Maroubra Police Station where he is assisting with inquiries. Whilst in custody he was treated for a hand laceration.

A crime scene was established at the location of the stabbing and the house where the boy was arrested.
