A man will face court today after he allegedly stabbed a man with a pair of scissors in Fairfield overnight.
About 11pm (Monday 22 February 2021), officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended Harris Street following reports a man had been stabbed in the upper arm.
The 47-year-old man was treated at the scene and taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.
While police were patrolling, they noticed a man walking on Railway Parade at Cabramatta, matching the description supplied to them. The man ran when he saw the police and a foot pursuit commenced.
The 28-old Villawood man was arrested and taken to Fairfield Police Station.
Police will allege the man approached a group of men in Harris Street and attempted to start a fight. As one of the men started walking towards his car the man allegedly produced a pair of scissors and stabbed him.
The man was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and was refused bail. He will appear in Liverpool Local Court today (Tuesday 23 February 2021).
