Man taken to hospital after bike collided with car near Wollongong, NSW

A man has been taken to hospital after a trail bike collided with a 4WD near Wollongong today, NSW Police say.

About 2pm (Saturday 21 July 2018), police attended Lake Avenue, Cringila, about 6km from Wollongong, after a trail bike and Ford Territory collided.

The 4WD caught alight and was extinguished by nearby witnesses.

The rider, a 30-year-old man, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Wollongong Hospital with a suspected fractured leg. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The driver of the Ford was not physically injured.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Police Area Command, with the assistance of Crash Investigation Unit officers, will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
