Man to appear in court on firearm-related offences - Riverina PD

A man will appear in court after officers from Riverina Police District conducted a search of his home and seized an unregistered firearm.

About 2.30pm yesterday (Monday 19 August 2019), officers entered the Blowering Road home and spoke with the 29-year-old occupant.

Officers then conducted a search of the home where they allegedly located a .22 calibre Lithgow bolt-action rifle, under a mattress, and some cannabis seeds.

The items were seized by police and taken to Tumut Police Station where further inquiries were conducted.

The 29-year-old man was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for possess unauthorised firearm, possess unregistered firearm, not keep firearm safely, possess ammunition without holding a licence, and possess prohibited drug.

He is due to appear in Tumut Local Court on Monday 14 October 2019.
