Man wanted for university burglaries

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a man wanted for burglaries at a university in Footscray.

An unidentified man broke into a café on Ballarat Road on 19 January and stole an amount of cash from the till.

On January 23 the same man went into a closed classroom and stole five laptops.

He is perceived to be of caucasian appearance, between 30 and 40 years old, of slim build with short brown hair.

He was wearing a multi-coloured t-shirt and a blue baseball hat with a white symbol on the front and black Adidas shoes on both occasions.

Investigators have released an image of the man in the hope someone may have information on his current whereabouts.
