Man wanted on outstanding warrants for injuring police officer - Inner West PAC and Nepean PAC

Police are seeking public assistance to locate a man wanted on outstanding warrants in Sydney's west and the Inner West.

Benjamin Ivers, aged 34, of Cambridge Park, is wanted for offensive weapon and menace charges after allegedly injuring a police officer.

About 10.45am on Tuesday 9 February 2021, plain clothed officers attached to Inner West Police Area Command were conducting patrols of the Camperdown area when they noticed a red MG SUV stopped on Lambert Street at Camperdown.

Checks of the vehicle revealed it belonged to Ivers and revealed the 34-year-old was wanted on an outstanding warrant for domestic violence-related offences.

Police approached the vehicle and identified themselves, before Ivers allegedly accelerated the vehicle at one of the officers.

The vehicle struck the officer and ran over his bicycle, before fleeing the scene.

The officer suffered minor injuries to his right knee, left thigh and left forearm.

Officers from Inner West Police Area Command began conducting inquiries into his whereabouts, assisted by Nepean Police Area Command, and are now appealing for public assistance.

Ivers is described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 180cm to 190cm tall, of slim build with brown hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos on both forearms.

He was last seen on Lambert Street, Camperdown on Tuesday 9 February 2021.

Ivers is known to frequent the Cambridge Park, Camperdown and Nowra areas.
