Man will appear in court, after aggravated indecent assault, NSW

A man will appear in court after officers from the Police Transport Command’s Operation Artemis arrested a man, following an alleged aggravated indecent assault on a train between Macarthur and Campbelltown railway stations, NSW Police say.

About 4pm Tuesday 4 April, 2017, a 15-year-old boy boarded a train at Tahmoor, near Macarthur Railway Station when he was allegedly indecently assaulted.

The train terminated at Campbelltown where the man exited the station on Hurley Street.

The young boy also left the train at Campbelltown and was escorted by a witness to Campbelltown Police Station and reported the incident.

Shortly after 4pm yesterday following investigations by officers attached to Campbelltown Police Transport Command, a 70-year-old man was arrested at Campbelltown Railway Station.

He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with aggravated indecent assault.

He was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today, (6 April 2017).
