Man, Woman Nabbed for Drug Crimes in Murray River

A man and woman will face court charged with drug offences, following a road stop in the State's Riverina.

Officers attached to Murray River Highway Patrol, stopped a car driving east on the Riverina Highway, Bungowannah, approximately 16km from Albury about 10.15am yesterday (Wednesday 21 February 2024), for a random breath test.

Officers had reason to search the vehicle and allegedly seized prohibited drugs including methylamphetamine with a street value of $25,000.

A 37-year-old man and 18-year-old woman were arrested at the scene and taken to Albury Police Station.

The man was charged with three counts of supply prohibited drug > indictable &

The woman was charged with three counts of possess prohibited drug, and two counts of supply prohibited drug>indictable &

The man was refused bail, to appear in Albury Local Court today (Thursday 22 February 2024).

The woman was granted conditional bail to appear in Albury Local Court on Wednesday 20 March 2024.
