Police Seek Information On Arson - Bundilla Beach

The Northern Territory Police Force is calling for information in relation to an alleged arson at Bundilla Beach earlier this month.

On Thursday, 1 October 2026, members of the Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service (NTFRS) attended the public toilet facilities at Bundilla Beach following reports of a fire.

Upon attendance, firefighters located a wheelie bin alight inside the toilet cubicle. The fire caused extensive damage to the interior of the amenities block, including the toilet cubicle and surrounding structural fixtures.

Following notification of the incident, Darwin City Council reviewed CCTV footage from the Bundilla Beach precinct. The footage depicted five male youths congregating near the dog park area, where they were observed setting fire to a wheelie bin.

Around 12:50am, the youths were then seen moving a wheelie bin into the nearby toilet block before deliberately setting it alight inside the toilet cubicle.

After the incident, the youths were picked up from the location in a White Toyota Kluger, where they were driven from the scene.

The fire subsequently spread throughout the amenities block, causing significant property damage, initially estimated to be valued at about $230,000.

Anyone with information or footage is urged to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
