Man's Hand Severed During Assault At Coffs Harbour

A man's hand has been severed during an assault this morning on the North Coast.

Emergency services responded to reports that a man's left hand had been cut off during an assault at a home on Toormina Place, Coffs Harbour, about 6.45am today (Wednesday 16 April 2025).

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 59-year-old man at the scene before he was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Two women, aged 58 and 80, who were in the premises at the time, were not injured.

Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District have been told two men – one of whom is believed to be known to the 59-year-old man - had assaulted him. They left before police arrived.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the incident commenced.
