Manslaughter charge, Eagleby

Detectives have charged a man with manslaughter, following investigations into the death of another man at Eagleby today.

It will be alleged sometime before 7am, two men known to each other became involved in an altercation on the riverbank. As a result, one man was reported missing in the Albert River.

At 7.30am, a 27-year-old Eagleby man was located deceased in the river at the end of Logan Street.

Tonight, police have charged a 30-year-old Eagleby man with manslaughter.

He is due to appear before the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on July 12.

Investigations are ongoing.
