Kiama Council has announced the market operators for Blowhole Point Reserve (Black Beach) and Coronation Park.

The Kiama and District Business Chamber was successful with their application to operate at Black Beach, as was Kiama Farmer's Market for operating at Coronation Park.

The selection follows an expression of interest and evaluation process based on Council's new Markets – Public Places Policy.

This Policy, developed in consultation with market operators, provides equity and transparency in our selection who can operate a market on public land.

It also provides consistency and certainty for markets operators regarding the fees they pay for using public land, based on independent land valuation rather than a varying per stall figure.

This has the further benefit of allowing operators flexibility in how they manage their markets, such as no longer setting restrictions on stall numbers, while still setting out clear and consistent market guidelines.

Council is currently finalising operating details before issuing the licences.
