Marom Creek Road, Rous Mill will be closed to through traffic from Tuesday 29 September to Friday 13 November 2026, weather permitting, while Ballina Shire Council undertakes permanent road reconstruction works.
A detour will be in place via Rous Mill Road and Dalwood Road. Motorists should plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow all traffic signs and detour directions.
What to expect
- Marom Creek Road, between Tucki Road and Crawfords Lane, will be closed to through traffic from Tuesday 29 September to Friday 13 November 2026, weather permitting.
- Detours will be in place via Rous Mill Road and Dalwood Road (see map on p.2).
- Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow additional travel time and follow all traffic signage and detour directions.
About the works
The works form part of Council's Essential Public Asset Reconstruction (EPAR) Program to permanently restore roads damaged during the 2022 floods and strengthen the local road network for the future.
Works on Marom Creek Road will include embankment remediation, pavement reconstruction and road safety improvements.
