The Crisafulli Government is hosting a forum in Maryborough to listen to the community about growing concern around rampant antisocial behaviour in the city.

Premier David Crisafulli and Member for Maryborough John Barounis were joined by local business owners, Fraser Coast Council representatives, the Queensland Police Service and other key stakeholders to listen to the community's concerns.

Antisocial behaviour and community outrage have soared in Maryborough after the former Labor Government weakened laws and removed consequences for actions.

The wave of antisocial behaviour is pushing the Maryborough community to breaking point, with locals frustrated that they feel unsafe in the CBD while going about their daily lives.

Today's forum marks a key step in restoring safety to Maryborough, with locals who have experienced the problem first-hand helping to drive solutions.

Premier David Crisafulli said the forum was about ensuring the Maryborough community's concerns were listened to.

"Antisocial behaviour is bringing Maryborough to its knees, and this proud community deserves better," Premier Crisafulli said.

"The challenges of this disturbing behaviour must be addressed.

"We are hosting this forum, because we want locals to have their voices heard and help drive solutions to this concerning issue."

Member for Maryborough John Barounis said listening to the community and local stakeholders would ensure the Crisafulli Government delivered solutions that made a real difference.

"Everyday Maryborough residents are experiencing the consequences of being neglected by Labor for a decade," Mr Barounis said.

"Unlike Labor, the Crisafulli Government is listening to the community and working hard to restore safety to Maryborough.

"We've delivered stronger laws and consequences for actions through Adult Time Adult Crime, we're giving the police the resources they need to do their job and now we're acting to find solutions to antisocial behaviour."
