Sex Crimes Squad have charged a man with child abuse material and firearm related offences under Strike Force Glandore.
Strike Force Glandore was established by State Crime Command's Sex Crimes Squad Child Internet Exploitation Unit (CIEU) to investigate the online distribution, supply and access of child abuse material.
As part of ongoing investigations, about 7.45am yesterday (Thursday 25 September 2025), strike force detectives executed a search warrant at a home in Matraville.
During a search of the home, police allegedly located a phone containing child abuse material.
Police also located two gel blasters, two imitation firearms, a slingshot, two rounds of ammunition and some cannabis.
An 18-year-old man was arrested and taken to Maroubra Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of possess child abuse material, three counts of possess unauthorised pistol, possess unauthorised firearm, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority and possess prohibited drug.
The man was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Local Court 6 today (Friday 26 September 2025).
Investigations under Strike Force Glandore continue.
