Horsham Rural City Council Mayor Cr Brian Klowss and CEO Gail Gatt joined leaders from Ballarat, Greater Bendigo, Greater Geelong, Latrobe, Mildura, Greater Shepparton, Wangaratta, Warrnambool and Wodonga at Parliament House this week as part of a Regional Cities Victoria advocacy program focused on the future of regional Victoria.

As part of the delegation, regional leaders met with Victorian Opposition Leader Jess Wilson and Shadow Minister for Regional Development Danny O'Brien MP to discuss the priorities, opportunities and challenges facing regional communities.

Mayor Klowss and Ms Gatt also participated in the Regional Cities Victoria Annual Forum, which featured presentations from Minister for Regional Development, Agriculture and Water Michaela Settle MP, along with senior representatives from State Government departments. Discussions focused on the important role regional centres play in Victoria's future and reinforced the need for continued investment in roads, housing-enabling infrastructure and projects that support jobs and economic growth.

Regional Cities Victoria used the event to outline its priorities ahead of the upcoming State Election, advocating for increased investment in regional roads and infrastructure to help communities attract residents, support businesses and plan for long-term growth.
