Toowoomba Region Mayor Geoff McDonald and fellow Councillors today (September 12, 2023) welcomed Edwina Farquhar, pictured, as their new Toowoomba Regional Council colleague.
Mrs Farquhar was appointed at today's Special Meeting of Council following a vote by the 10 serving Councillors.
Mayor McDonald congratulated Mrs Farquhar on her appointment.
"Council's CEO Brian Pidgeon will officially swear in Mrs Farquhar tomorrow (September 13) after the committee meetings. Our new colleague will attend her first official Council meeting at Tuesday's (September 19) September Ordinary Meeting of Council," Mayor McDonald said.
"I'm pleased we have settled the composition of the Council team that will serve our residents until the next quadrennial local government election, which is set for March 16, 2024.
