Council has received a declaration from the Electoral Commission of Queensland that Michelle Hobson has been elected as the new Division 1 Councillor.
Congratulations to Michelle on her win. I look forward to welcoming her to the Council table and working together to keep delivering for our community.
I also want to acknowledge every candidate who put their hand up to serve. Standing for public office takes courage, commitment and a genuine desire to make a difference, and our city is stronger when people are willing to step up and have their say.
Council will hold the Declaration of Office meeting at 9am on Wednesday 7 October 2026 in the Council Chamber after which Michelle can formally commence her role representing the residents of Division 1.
