McGowan Government begins State Disability Plan

  • State Government to develop State Disability Plan

Disability Services Minister Stephen Dawson has today announced plans to develop a State Disability Plan that will underpin all State Government activities and initiatives that support and empower people with disability over the coming decade.

The plan will drive more inclusive communities and improve the accessibility of State Government services, systems and infrastructure for all Western Australians with disability.

Development of the State Disability Plan is part of the State Government's strategy to listen, engage and hear the needs of the disability community.

National Disability Services WA called for a State Disability Plan in its pre-Budget submission presented to the State Government on October 22, 2018.

Consultation will extend to people with disability, their families and carers, support networks, service providers, State and local governments and advocacy groups.
