McGowan Government continues to drive economic growth in State's premier industrial region

  • New industrial zones to create more than 1,400 construction and operational jobs
  • Western Trade Coast has been designed as Australia's industrial land gateway
  • The McGowan Government is delivering on its commitment to drive Western Australia's economic development and jobs growth, with the release of a range of lots at three key precincts in Perth's southern corridor set to open new opportunities for businesses of all sizes via the Industrial Lands Authority (ILA).

The new lots are located at the Rockingham Industry Zone and Latitude 32 Industry Zone - part of the Western Trade Coast (WTC).

WTC is a 3,900-hectare area between Munster and Rockingham which has been designed as Australia's industrial land gateway to global industry and trade with the powerhouse economies of China and South East Asia.

The lots, in total, have the capacity to produce more than 1,400 construction and operational jobs and inject $162 million per year into the economy once fully built out.

    The new releases are:

    Rockingham Industrial Zone

    • 11 industrial lots ranging from 4,399sqm to 2.8252ha in the Rockingham Industrial Zone's newest development, Lodge Road.
    • The release of this new precinct is a reflection of strong demand and ongoing growth.

Flinders Precinct (Latitude 32 Industry Zone)

    • Lot 1031, a 2,000sqm café/commercial lot on the corner of Armstrong Road and McLaren Avenue perfectly positioned to serve the growing industrial estate, which is more than 75 per cent sold.
    • Five additional industrial lots on McLaren Avenue and six mid-sized general industrial lots ranging in size from 6,000sqm to 18,078sqm, resulting from the subdivision of Lot 1049 on Investigator Drive.

Hope Valley Road (Latitude 32 Industry Zone)

    • Undeveloped general industrial lots 171 (24,908sqm) and 172 (20,133sqm).

The ILA operates within DevelopmentWA, and takes a leading role in driving the State's economic development and jobs growth by delivering strategically located land for strategic, general and light industrial use across Western Australia.

The work of the ILA is crucial to unlocking future development options and streamlining private sector investment.

As stated by Premier Mark McGowan:

"This is another example of my Government working hard to diversify the economy to grow jobs.

"The Western Trade Coast is a development which underlines WA's reputation as the 'engine room of the nation'.

"It also gives people more of an opportunity to work near where they live."

As stated by Lands Minister Ben Wyatt:

"This is great news for the future of industrial development and jobs within WA.

"The Industrial Lands Authority develops land for jobs, and is the commercial bridge between private sector developers and the McGowan Government - facilitating the partnerships that spark growth opportunities in our economy.

"The release of these lots in our State's premier industrial area shows we can cover the full spectrum of commercial and industrial needs, from café lots through to leasehold land.

"All of the lots being released this week offer strong arterial connectivity to major transport routes, great proximity to local employment bases and design guidelines that ensure the estates are of the highest quality."
