MDMA, Cocaine And $50k Cash Seized, Bowen Hills

Brisbane City Tactical Crime Squad (TCS) officers have charged two men and seized drugs and approximately $50,000 cash following proactive patrols in Bowen Hills.

On 22 September at 12.30am, patrolling City TCS officers observed an alleged drug deal on Tufton Street.

Officers took two men into custody, and it is alleged they were in possession of a small quantity of cocaine and drug cash.

A subsequent search warrant was conducted at a Hamilton Place address where police located MDMA, cocaine, bags of cannabis, utensils and approximately $50,000 worth of cash suspected of being used in alleged drug use and distribution.

A 25-year-old Hamilton man was charged with two counts each of possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 4 (cocaine and methylenedioxymethamphetamine), and possess property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence, and one count each of possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 2 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3 (cannabis), possessing property obtained from trafficking or supplying and trafficking in dangerous drugs.

He was remanded in custody and is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court 20 October.

A 36-year-old Holland Park West man was charged with one count of possess property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence.

He is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on 3 November.
