A pedestrian detour has been implemented along Railway Road, Meadowbank due to the temporary closure of the eastern footpath between Constitution Road and Underdale Lane.
The closure supports upcoming public domain works to lower and upgrade the footpath, aimed at improving pedestrian safety and accessibility in the area. The works are being carried out by Buildcorp as part of the development at 1–20 Railway Road, as part of conditions set by the NSW Land and Environment Court.
The project is expected to take about three months to complete.
During this period, a signed pedestrian detour will guide foot traffic around the construction zone. Traffic management measures will be implemented in line with an approved traffic control plan and include:
- Traffic controllers stationed at the intersection of Railway Road/Bay Drive and Bank Street bridge.
- A temporary 30km/h speed limit near Railway Road/Bay Drive and Bank Street.
- Variable message signs (VMS) to advise drivers and other road users to changed traffic conditions.
