MEDIA ADVISORY: Man dies after shooting - Rhodes

A man has died in hospital following a shooting in Rhodes overnight.

Emergency services were called to Walker Street about 6.30pm (Monday 27 June 2022), where they found a 40-year-old man with gunshot wounds.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital, where he died a short time ago.

Officers from Burwood Police Area Command – with assistance from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad – have commenced an investigation under Strike Force Claypinch.

The incident is believed to be targeted.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward and contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
