Medical concern for missing man Stephen Waller

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing man Stephen Waller.

The 43-year-old has been at the Alfred Hospital for the last four days being treated for a serious medical condition however left of his own accord Thursday evening about 8.20pm.

He was last seen on the number 72 tram heading towards Camberwell and was believed to be heading home to South Yarra.

Stephen did not return home and his whereabouts is unknown.

Police, family and medical staff hold serious concerns for Stephen's welfare due to the imminent need for him to receive medical treatment.

Police have released an image of Stephen in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information on his whereabouts.

Stephen is described as about 182cm tall, with short grey hair, balding and is gaunt.

He was last seen wearing a grey jacket and denim jeans with stains.

Anyone who sights Stephen is urged to contact Triple Zero (000) or who knows of his whereabouts is urged to contact Southbank police station on 8635 0900.
