Medical fees update - effective 1 March 2022

WorkCover Queensland has updated the Medical Items Table of Costs. Changes will take effect on 1 March 2022.

The update reflects the recent amendments to the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) for 1 January and 1 March 2022.

The updated table of costs is available on the fees page of this website.

There may be further amendments to item numbers and/or fees before or after 1 March 2022. Please refer to our fees page as we will endeavour to update the table of costs as quickly as possible, should this occur.

Updates to surgery guidelines

Small administrative changes have been made to our Upper and Lower Limb Surgery Guidelines. The changes are representative of the MBS clinical indicators. The updated surgery guidelines are also available on this website.

Prompt submission of invoices

The Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 specifies that accounts for medical and allied health treatment must be sent to the insurer promptly and within two months after the treatment is completed i.e. from the date of service. Please submit invoices within two months, as invoices submitted outside of this time may be refused.
