Men charged following serious assault at Brunswick

Police have arrested two men in relation to an alleged serious assault at Brunswick earlier this year, Victoria Police say.

It’s alleged a 35-year-old Pascoe Vale man received serious, but non-life threatening injuries, when he was assaulted by a group of men at a licensed venue on Sydney Road on 26 February.

Moreland Crime Investigation Unit detectives arrested a 35-year-old Lynbrook man after they executed a search warrant at the man’s home about 6.30am this morning.

At the same time detectives executed a warrant at a Cranbourne address and arrested a 25-year-old Cranbourne man.

Both men have been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 31 October charged with intentionally cause injury and affray.

The Cranbourne man has also been charged with possess cannabis and possess prohibited weapon.
