We had 12 people attend our author talk with Meredith Jaffé, where she spoke about her latest novel 'The Importance of Being Delia'.
Meredith was an absolute delight, and we're thrilled she called in to Kempsey Library on her book tour. She shared how people, especially women, are expected to be people-pleasers who often end up in second place (or lower!) when getting time to themselves and their needs met, so hopefully the characters of Delia and Olivia offer people a little inspiration.
She confirmed Claudia is not based on anyone (phew!), but Igor is (her cat, Meow-Meow. Please note: Meredith's t-shirt).
She dismissed the myth that natural talent beats out simply sticking with something, and encouraged us all to set aside time, even just a short while, to work on something each day that will lead to a huge accomplishment and a grand feeling of achievement.
