I want to say thank you to all Territorians.
As the clean-up continues, the generosity and community spirit of Territorians has once again shone, and it makes me very proud.
I want to acknowledge the tireless work of our emergency response teams who worked around the clock all week.
A special thank you to our NTES volunteers and friendly neighbours who were out on the streets clearing fallen trees and ensuring safe access across our neighbourhoods.
The cyclone has now passed, and we have transitioned into the recovery phase.
Power and Water have already restored electricity to more than 5,500 homes, and crews are continuing to work through the remaining outages.
It is my expectation that Power and Water provide regular updates throughout the coming days as they work hard to get the lights back on.
I know this is a frustrating time for many, and I thank Territorians for your patience. Additional crews have also been deployed to the Tiwi Islands and impacted remote communities to assist with power restoration.
There are still traffic lights out across the network, so I urge everyone to drive carefully and stay safe. Schools have now been assessed, with the vast majority reopening today, and school and public bus routes returning to normal.
The NTG has opened a green waste dump point at Hidden Valley Raceway Carpark to support the clean-up. It will be open from 1pm today.
We are a tough Territory, and Territorians are a tough people.
Thank you for sticking together and looking after one another.
We were prepared, and it made a big difference.
Lia.
