Mid-range PCA charge after crash at Ryde

A man has been charged with mid-range drink driving after allegedly crashing his car into two parked vehicles in West Ryde last night.

About 11.30pm (Thursday 4 November 2022), officers from Ryde Police Area Command were called to Dickson Avenue, West Ryde, following reports a car crashing into parked vehicles.

Police spoke with the driver of the Toyota Hiace – a man aged 43 – who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

He was subjected to a roadside breath test, which allegedly returned a positive result.

The man was arrested and taken to Ryde Police Station for a breath analysis, which allegedly returned a positive reading of 0.101.

The driver of the Toyota was issued an immediate licence suspension notice and a court attendance notice for the offence of drive with mid-range prescribed concentration of alcohol.

He is due to appear at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 20 December 2022.
