Migration and Refugee Division Updates Practice, President Directives

The Acting President has issued a new Migration and Refugee Division Practice Direction and a revised President's Direction on prioritising applications in the Migration and Refugee Division.

These directions for the Migration and Refugee Division (MRD) come into effect on Wednesday 1 March 2023 and supersede previous directions.

The new MRD practice direction replaces the COVID-19 Special Measures Practice Direction – Migration and Refugee and the Migration and Refugee Matters Practice Direction.

The MRD Practice Direction has been streamlined and contains our requirements and expectations. The Direction is now in chronological order from lodgement to hearing.

The Presidents Direction – Prioritising applications in the Migration and Refugee Division has been updated with information on how we prioritise our cases that reflects our current operating environment.
