Milton Ulladulla Hospital Access Changes During Entry Upgrade

Patients and visitors to Milton Ulladulla Hospital are advised of temporary changes to accessing the hospital while work to upgrade the main entry is carried out.

Milton Ulladulla Hospital Director of Nursing and Midwifery and Operations Manager Stuart Emslie said a temporary main entrance will be used from Tuesday, 10 June until Monday, 23 June.

"During this period, the main entry and area in front of the hospital will be blocked off to enable the modernisation and security upgrade to occur safely and efficiently," Mr Emslie said.

"People will be able enter and exit the main part of the hospital through the entrance near the Ambulance Bay, about 20 metres east of the existing main entrance.

"Temporary signage and lighting will be installed to help direct people to the entrance and access via the public footpath in front of the hospital.

"Additional security staff will be on site to escort people between the temporary entrance and the main lobby. In line with current after-hours procedures, an intercom will be available at the temporary entrance, for patients and visitors who require access to the hospital between 9.00pm and 6.00am.

"The hospital's other entries are not impacted so people can continue to use those as they would normally."

The $130,000 main entry upgrade includes installation of modern, fit-for-purpose entrance doors and a new security system.

"The upgrade will provide a safe and accessible point-of-entry to the hospital and the new doors will better support transport of hospital equipment through the main entryway,'' Mr Emslie said.

"The revitalised entrance will also offer a more welcoming and modern environment for those accessing the hospital.''

This project is being delivered as part of the NSW Government's Regional Health Minor Works Program, which is investing a total of almost $12 million in 61 projects across the state.
