Mining explosives found - Dundas

Police are appealing for information after mining explosives were found in a park in Sydney's north-west this morning.

About 6am (Monday 29 March 2021), police received reports that a bag containing suspected explosives was found by joggers at a park on Alexander Street, Dundas.

Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command, assisted by the Rescue and Bomb Unit and Fire and Rescue NSW, attended and established an exclusion zone in the surrounding area.

Following inquiries, the contents of the bag were identified as an explosive commonly used in mining and stone cutting.

The explosives were safely removed and taken for further examination.
