Minister Joly to welcome representatives of Kingdom of Denmark to Canada

The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced that she is hosting Jeppe Kofod, the Kingdom of Denmark's Minister of Foreign Affairs; Múte B. Egede, Greenland's Prime Minister; and Vivian Motzfeldt, Greenland's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Business and Trade, in Ottawa from June 14 to 15, 2022.

Together, they will discuss how Canada and the Kingdom of Denmark can continue to expand bilateral ties and security cooperation, including by supporting a safe, secure and well-defended Arctic. Minister Joly and Minister Kofod will also discuss Russian President Vladimir Putin's illegal and unjustifiable invasion of Ukraine, as well as its impacts on food and energy security and the rules-based international order.

Minister Joly and her Danish and Greenlandic partners will discuss outstanding boundary issues in the area between Canada and Greenland, as well as the importance of freedom of movement of Inuit in the North.

Minister Joly and her partners from the Kingdom of Denmark will highlight the importance of strengthened transatlantic ties, as well as the shared values, interests and strong people-to-people ties between their countries.
