Minister Sajjan to travel to UN headquarters to participate in debate on universal vaccination

The Honourable Harjit S. Sajjan, Minister of International Development and Minister responsible for the Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada, today announced that he will travel to New York City to participate in the Galvanizing Momentum for Universal Vaccination debate, on February 25, convened by His Excellency Abdulla Shahid, President of the UN General Assembly.

The Minister will deliver a statement on behalf of Canada, addressing a number of key challenges, as well as solutions, which will ensure vaccines are available for everyone everywhere as soon as possible.

The Minister will be in New York City on Thursday, February 24, and Friday, February 25. Prior to and following his participation in the debate, he will meet with UN and international partners to discuss shared interests and priorities.

All COVID-19-related public health rules and guidelines will be followed before, during and after the Minister's trip.
