Yesterday, the Honourable Maninder Sidhu, Minister of International Trade, met with Mauro Vieira, Brazil's Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the World Trade Organization's 14th Ministerial Conference, being held from March 26 to 29 in Yaoundé, Cameroon, where he continued to advance progress on Canada-Mercosur free trade agreement negotiations. They also discussed shared WTO priorities, including agriculture, and commercial opportunities to deepen ties between Canada and Brazil.
Minister Sidhu underscored Canada's commitment to diversifying trade and strengthening economic partnerships across the Americas. These efforts support sustainable economic growth and job creation in Canada, Brazil and Mercosur member countries.
