Missing Angourie Swimmer's Body Discovered in Coffs/Clarence

The body of a teenage boy has been found during the search of a beachside waterhole on the North Coast.

Emergency services were called to Angourie Green Pool, 5km south of Yamba, about 3pm yesterday (Sunday 14 January 2024), following reports a teenage boy was missing after jumping from a rock ledge.

Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District attended and began searching for the missing swimmer, assisted by Surf Lifesavers, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and police divers.

The body of a 15-year-old boy was located about 10pm. He has now been formally identified as the missing swimmer.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
