Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing Deer Park boy Alfred Kainano.
The 12-year-old was last seen at his school in St Albans about 3pm yesterday.
Police and family have concerns for Alfred's welfare due to his age and it is out of character.
Alfred is Pacific Islander in appearance, 170cm tall with dark hair and a solid build.
He was last seen wearing a black hooded jumper with 'anime' logo, blue t-shirt and black rugby shorts and red Adidas runners.
Police have released an image of Alfred in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information regarding his current whereabouts.
Anyone with information about Alfred is urged to contact Keilor Downs Police Station on 9365 3333.
