Missing Eastwood man found at Sutherland

A man reported missing from Eastwood last month, has been found in the Sutherland area today.

A 54-year-old man was reported missing to Ryde Police Area Command on Monday 24 June 2019, after he disappeared from his Eastwood home on Saturday 15 June 2019.

Inquiries to locate him since this time, have been unsuccessful.

About 2.30pm today (Tuesday 23 July 2019), a man walked into the NSW Rural Fire Service Emergency Management complex at Heathcote and officers from Sutherland Police Area Command were notified.

The 54-year-old man has told police he has been sleeping in a tent within the national park for the past five weeks and was in need of medical assistance.

He has been treated by paramedics and taken to St George Hospital in a stable condition.
