Missing man in Giru, QLD

Police are searching for a 32-year-old man reported missing from Giru last night.

The man was last seen on foot at around 5pm in the vicinity of Black Gully and police are investigating whether he may have entered the water in an attempt to return home.

Townsville Police coordinated a search operation at around 5pm in the area which continued until 11.30pm last night. Search efforts were hampered due to the weather.

QPS officers then continued to monitor the creek line during the night.

A full search will recommence today at first light with the assistance of local emergency services.
