Mitchell Shire Council is urging local farmers to take advantage of the Victorian Government's expanded On-Farm Drought Infrastructure Grants, now available to eligible primary producers across Victoria.
Administered by Rural Finance, the program offers grants of up to $5,000 (excluding GST) on a dollar-for-dollar co-contribution basis. These funds support practical on-farm infrastructure improvements aimed at enhancing drought preparedness and resilience.
These include:
- Upgrading stock containment areas
- Installing reticulated water systems
- Improving irrigation
- Increasing fodder and grain storage
- Re-fencing paddocks for better land management
- Enhancing feed systems
To access the grant, applicants must contribute an amount equal to or greater than the funding received.
