Moira Shire welcomed 25 new Australian citizens with a ceremony at the Cobram Civic Centre on Monday 26 January.
Twenty-one adults and four children from 12 different countries gained citizenship at Monday's ceremony.
They are from the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Thailand, Brazil, India, China, Myanmar, Taiwan, Fiji, Malaysia, Pakistan and the Philippines.
They have made their new homes in Numurkah, Yarrawonga, Cobram, Katamatite, Katunga, Picola and Invergordon.
Moira Shire Council Chair Administrator Dr Graeme Emonson PSM congratulated the new citizens and welcomed them to Moira Shire during the ceremony.
"Becoming a citizen is an important milestone and we are delighted 25 people will add their stories and experiences to the broader Australian story in Moira Shire," Dr Emonson said.
"Australia's strength comes from its multiculturalism, built upon the ancient culture of First Nations peoples. Every migrant generation broadens our horizons, deepens our identity and enriches our nation.
"I encourage our new citizens to share their skills, hopes and traditions to make Moira Shire and Australia a richer, stronger and more vibrant community.
"We wish them every success as they start this new chapter of their lives."
Moira Shire's new citizens are among the more than 18,800 people from more than 150 countries who became citizens on Australia Day 2026, at one of more than 325 ceremonies.
