Cabonne Council wishes to advise residents of Molong, Cumnock and Yeoval that the planned commencement of water fluoridation has been delayed until the end of October 2026.
In an effort to provide residents with as much notice as possible, Council previously distributed letters advising that fluoridation was expected to commence at the end of July.
While all infrastructure works, commissioning and project requirements have now been completed, Council is currently awaiting final approval from the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) before fluoridation can commence.
As a result, the anticipated commencement date has been revised, with Council now expecting the fluoridation system to become operational by the end of October 2026, subject to receipt of the necessary approval.
Council remains committed to introducing fluoridation to the town water supplies of Molong, Cumnock and Yeoval and appreciates the community's patience and understanding throughout the approval process.
A further update will be provided and residents will be notified prior to fluoridation commencing.
