The International Labour Organization's (ILO) Sustaining Competitive and Responsible Enterprises (SCORE) Programme, implemented under the Youth Employment Promotion Project (YEPP), held its first results workshop on 18 September 2025. The event marked the successful completion of Module 1: Workplace Cooperation, highlighting tangible improvements achieved over the past three months by the participating enterprises in the cashmere sector.
Launched in Mongolia earlier this year, the SCORE Programme aims to strengthen productivity and working conditions in five selected enterprises. These enterprises-Goyol Cashmere, Khanbogd Cashmere, Evseg Cashmere, Capra D'Oro Cashmere, and Blue Sky Cashmere have reported notable achievements as a result of Module 1. Key improvements include:
- Increased space efficiency: 50% of workspace has been re-organized, allowing better use of work areas and larger workstation capacity.
- Better decision-making: Management is now able to make more informed decisions based on suggestions from workers.
Inclusive workplace practices: Staff have begun learning sign language, boosting morale and reducing communication gaps for workers with disabilities.
During the result workshop.
In addition, they have enhanced workplace organization through 5S and Kaizen and adopting structured worker suggestion schemes.
Employees are the most valuable asset of any enterprise. Recognizing their contribution and actively engaging them in decision-making is at the heart of successful workplace cooperation, said Ms. Altantsetseg Duger, Executive Director of Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association.
These results demonstrate how the SCORE can empower young workers to contribute to enterprise development while improving collaboration between managers and employees. Some enterprises are already seeing early gains in productivity and workplace culture.

Over the next two months, the five enterprises will continue to implement Module 2: Quality Improvement and Module 4: Workforce Management which will provide practical tools to strengthen people management systems and build a culture of quality. These modules will also support the enterprises in better understanding customer needs and continuously improving their products and services.
Through YEPP, funded by the Government of the Republic of Korea through the ILO/Korea Partnership Programme, The ILO's SCORE programme is being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Protection, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, Mongolian Wool and Cashmere Association and Mongolian Industrial Trade Union Federation.
