Mongols OMCG consorting charges

Three members of the Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) have been charged with consorting.

The Crime and Intelligence Command's Taskforce Maxima, assisted by local Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) investigators and Water Police, were deployed to Hamilton Island and observed the group allegedly engaging with each other, all known offenders, regularly during the two-day operation.

All three were charged with habitually consorting with a recognised offender.

A Rochedale and Greenslopes man, aged 29 and 33, are due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 3.

A 28-year-old Ashmore man is also due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on November 3.

Another identified member of the Mongols OMCG seen on Hamilton Island was also issued with a pre-emptive consorting warning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Troy Lehmann of the Organised Crime Gangs Group's Taskforce Maxima, makes no apologies for pursuing and disrupting OMCG members from establishing, maintaining or expanding their criminal network, irrespective of where they may be in the State.

"The persistent pursuit of offences committed by OMCGs is in line with our commitment to make the Queensland community safe," he said.
