Following the detailed analysis, which showed that State Labor would slug Tasmanians an additional $2.7 billion, the Government will move for greater scrutiny of Labor's massive tax plan.
In the last session of Parliament, Labor voted to legislate rates of own source revenues (taxes) well above existing rates and targets.
Analysis based on the current budget and forwards shows if Labor's plan was to go ahead, Tasmanian taxpayers would be set to pay over $2.7 billion in additional taxes by the end of 2027-28.
Last year the Parliament called on Labor to release an alternative budget. The Opposition Leader failed to comply with the will of the House.
Today, Tasmanian Labor will be called on again to release an alternative budget this year.
Tasmanians deserve to know who Labor will slug the most.
